The Lucien Heath building was built in 1873 by Lucien Heath to be home to his hardware business, at the corner of Church Street and Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz. It and the adjacent Bernheim building were replaced by the E. C. Rittenhouse Building, after both buildings were demolished following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
