Santa Cruz Post Office was built in 1911, on the corner of Water and Front streets. An annex was built on Water Street in the 1960s, within the San Lorenzo Park Plan redevelopment area.

- History of the state of California and biographical record of Santa Cruz...(Guinn, 1903), p.517-518, states that, in 1903, "The postoffice [sic] occupies a building on Locust street, owned by F. A. Hihn, and large and modern in all its details." At that time, Orlando J. Lincoln was postmaster.
