San Lorenzo Park

San Lorenzo Park was built in the early 1960s, part of the eponymous San Lorenzo Park Project (SLPP), adjacent to the Santa Cruz County Governmental Center, which was built as part of the same project. The SLPP included a pedestrian bridge which crosses the San Lorenzo River at the park, a mid-loop connection of the two sides of Riverwalk park. In 2019, the previously-nameless bridge was given the name Chinatown Bridge, and a memorial arch was added at the downtown end of the bridge, near the last Chinatown. In 2024, plans are underway for a major remodel of the park, which has changed little since its construction.
