Isabel [Hammel] Raymond did some of the writing for the 1896 book: Santa Cruz County, A Faithful Reproduction in Print and Photography of Its Climate, Capabilities, and Beauties by Phil Francis. (Cover title: Beautiful Santa Cruz County), including a description of the Sea Beach Hotel gardens. She also worked as a reporter for the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
