Pacheco family

The Pacheco family were Californios, some of whom lived in what is now Santa Cruz County. Barthelomo Pacheco was among the first godfathers at baptisms of Mission Santa Cruz neophytes. Romualdo Pacheco was the 12th governor of California. Pacheco Avenue in the Eastside neighborhood was named for the family. A number of Santa Cruz Pachecos are buried at Old Holy Cross Cemetery, but Barthelomo and Romualdo are not among the names found.
