Opal Cliffs is generally used locally to refer to a portion of the Pleasure Point unincorporated suburban neighborhood along Monterey Bay, bounded by 41st Avenue, the railroad tracks, and the city of Capitola. The United States Census Bureau used to define Opal Cliffs as a census-designated place (CDP). However, the Opal Cliffs CDP was abolished prior to the 2010 census and replaced with the Pleasure Point CDP.
