Mason, Sylvester J.

Sylvester J. Mason (no local burial found) is described in Guinn as born 1820 in Ohio. He "started over the plains with ox teams and wagons, in 1854, taking several head of cattle along with him", coming in "about 1860" to buy a ranch in Santa Cruz County. In 1895 he rented out the ranch and retired in Soquel.
