Hardy, William H.

William H. Hardy (d.1883), a native of England often addressed as "Captain" (and so presumably a former mariner), came to California in 1845 (Rowland, from Bancroft), and to Santa Cruz in 1846. He and his wife Jane had a boarding house on Third Street. Fellow pioneer Jack Swan visited the Hardys in 1882.
