Glenwood

Glenwood is a rural residential area in a valley of the Santa Cruz Mountains, north east of Scotts Valley. It was founded by Charles C. Martin (1832-1920) at the west end of a tunnel dug for the South Pacific Coast Railroad in 1879-80 (Martin may have been there before the tunnel), and was originally known as Martinville. Laurel was established at the other end of the same tunnel, which cut through a ridge below present-day Highway 17.
