Delaware Avenue

Delaware Avenue is one of the main streets in the Westside neighborhood, roughly paralleling Mission Street, but closer to the coast. It begins as Laguna Street at Bay Street near the Dream Inn, changes its name when it curves to the west, passes Natural Bridges State Beach, and ends at the western city limit and the entrance to UCSC's Seymour Marine Discovery Center. Once past the Laguna-Delaware transition curve, Delaware Avenue follows the route of the Ocean Shore Railroad, which existed from 1905 to 1920. Adjacent to the Seymour Center entry road and parking lot is a short trail with interpretive signage about the Ocean Shore RR.
