Henry Jubilee Bee (1808-1898)was, according to his Find-a-Grave page, a native of England who jumped ship in Monterey in 1830. He came to Branciforte briefly before joining Isaac Graham's rifleros (probably at Zayante) in 1836 to aid the Alvarado coup in Monterey. In 1840, Bee was one of the Americans arrested by Alvarado and sent to Mexico for trial. He returned in 1841 to Branciforte, moving to San Jose sometime before 1846. Associates there included James W. Weeks.
