In Villa de Branciforte, Rowland notes three persons with the surname Juarez living in early Branciforte, and it seems likely that they were related.

Joaquin Juarez was described as "an old soldier" (so possibly an invalido) as the maternal grandfather of Lucia Soria (a teen in the 1830s).
Manuela Juarez married Juan Jose Castro (born 1805)
Estefana Juarez was the wife of Robert King when he became a Santa Cruz constable in 1850.
