Names on the Map (2020 book)

Names on the Map is a book published in 2020 by Stanley D. Stevens. The titular "Map" is an 1889 Santa Cruz County parcel map, showing boundaries and owners' names - often referred to as the "Hatch Map". The book includes historical and biographical information on those involved in the map's publication, and an index to all of the property owner "Names" shown on the map (see Category:1889 Hatch map). Biographies in the book include:

• Andrew J. Hatch (map project promoter)
• Frederick Augustus Hihn (map project supporter and county's wealthiest person at the time)
• Edmund Michael Sleator (map colorist, not local)
• Henry Steinegger (lithographer of the Hatch Map and Bird's Eye View of Santa Cruz, 1888-89, not local)
• Thomas Wilson Wright (county surveyor)
