Louis C. Scholl (1888-1972), born in Santa Cruz, was the creator in 1920 of "Scholl-Marr" overlooking Seabright Beach, later known after a remodel as "Scholl Marr Castle" for its medieval-castle appearance. The beach below became known locally as "Castle Beach".
