The Pérez family were among the early Californio residents of our area.
- Antonia Pérez married William Trevethan.
- Cornelio Pérez was a juez de campo in 1851.
- Jose Maria Pérez married a daughter of the Rodriguez family
- eldest daughter Joséfa married into the Soto family (The Sidewalk Companion to Santa Cruz Architecture (4th ed. 2023), Chapter Six, item (23), page 192)
- Juan Pérez was entitled to take water from the Mission zanja in 1844.
