Hatch, Andrew J.
Andrew J. Hatch (1827-1891, Oakland) came to Santa Cruz in 1887, after many years in Nevada (from 1860), and began to invest in real estate. In 1889, Santa Cruz County approved an idea promoted by Hatch and Joseph Skirm to create and publish a county map showing parcels and owners' names. This became known as the "Hatch Map".
