Stephen Short (1803-1887) is possibly the father of a Stephen Short described in Guinn as born 1836 in Illinois, coming in the 1850s to farm in the Pajaro Valley.

Son [Isaac] Cyrus Short (1836-1908) is profiled in History of the state of California and biographical record of Santa Cruz...(Guinn, 1903), p.662.
