Ernest Joseph Kump Jr. (no local burial found) practiced architecture in Santa Cruz during the 1960s, and designed the 1964-65 building whose major tenants now (2023) are CVS Pharmacy and Trader Joe's market. Kump also designed one of the original UCSC buildings.
