Cowden, Ambrose A.

Ambrose Alfred Cowden (1912-1985), born in Santa Cruz, was an M. D. who shared office space with Alfred L. Phillips and Samuel Randall, in a 1930 building designed for them on Walnut Avenue in Santa Cruz. In 2001 the former doctors' offices became the Santa Cruz Fire Dept. administration building.

• Father Ambrose Franklin Cowden (1879-1931), also an M.D., was born in Placer County, California, and died in Santa Cruz.
• Brother Marshall Williams Cowden (1914-1974), also born in Santa Cruz, was also an M. D. Unlike his brother and father, he is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
