Parsons was later in the soap and glue manufacturing business, in partnership with his son-in-law Robert Hamilton under the name Parsons & Hamilton (per Guinn), so it seems reasonable to assume that Parsons & Hamilton took over the took over the established Kunitz (d.1897) business sometime in the 1890s.
