The Penniman family have been in the title insurance business in Santa Cruz.
- The Sidewalk Companion to Santa Cruz Architecture (4th ed. 2023), Chapter Seven, item (4), page 200. Leonora Penniman (1884-1957) was an early member of the Santa Cruz Art League.
