John Martin (no local burial) was a San Francisco investor and partner of Fred Swanton during the beginnings of what is now the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Martin's largest role was as one of the founders of what is now Pacific Gas and Electric Company. He also invested in the Union Traction (streetcar and later bus) company.
