Masakata Tan (1903-1982, Whittier) was born in Santa Cruz County to Japanese-immigrant parents. As an adult (according to Sandy Lydon), he owned a laundry on Bulkhead Street in Santa Cruz. At some point, he moved south to the LA area, where he and his wife are buried. It's not known whether the move came about because of WWII relocation.
