Majors Creek was named for a ranch bought in 1917 by two grandsons of Joseph Majors. Geographically, it is next in order up the coast from Baldwin Creek, and is one of the sources for the Santa Cruz Water Dept.
- On the 1889 Hatch Map, it is labeled "Coja Creek".
- Marion Pokriots, The Joseph Majors story: Santa Cruz ranchero & American alcalde (2005 book), 62.
