Edward White (1852-1931, San Francisco) is described in Martin as born 1851 in San Francisco, coming to the Pajaro Valley "Calabasa ranch" in 1884. Edward's father White, William F. was a pioneer of the area, partnering with several others (according to Martin the group included William Tecumseh Sherman, but Harrison listed an entirely different group of eminent partners) to buy a large portion of Rancho Salsipuedes, "comprising thirty-two thousand acres in the Pajaro valley, and purchased from Don Manuel Jimenez" in the 1850s. "Manuel Jimenez" is better known now as Manuel Jimeno Casarín.
