Edward J. Kelly (1874-1951) is described in Martin as born 1876 in Watsonville (Find-a-Grave says 1974), a son of Kelly, Patrick J. (Martin says Edward), who came to farm in the Pajaro Valley in 1850. According to Find-a-Grave, Edward J. had a grandfather named Edward, who never came to California.

The bio in Martin also claims that Edward J. Kelly was a grand-nephew of Eugene Kelly, who "ultimately became one of the first landowners in the Pajaro valley . . .". The Wikipedia article starts with: "Eugene Kelly (November 25, 1808 – December 19, 1894) was an Irish-American merchant, banker, and philanthropist who founded corporations in San Francisco and New York City."
