Charles Westbrook Waldron (Harrison p.338), born 1850 in Maryland, came to Santa Cruz in 1866, finding work for over 3 years at the Santa Cruz Sentinel. After leaving for newspaper jobs in several other California towns, Waldron returned to Santa Cruz in 1876 to purchase a share of the Sentinel. He partnered with Duncan McPherson from then until the end of 1907, when he moved to San Francisco (Sentinel, Dec. 31, 1907, 6:4).
