Tuttle, William D.

Owen Tuttle (1827-1889), born in Ohio, came to California in 1850, and to Santa Cruz County in 1872. He and his brother Daniel were well known in Pajaro Valley/Watsonville affairs, and one or both were members of the Galoot Club. Harrison mentions that Owen's daughter Annabelle married newspaperman William R. Radcliff. In 1891 Tuttle built a mansion on one of his "ranch" properties outside of town. It is now within the city limits (see photo at right), on E. Lake Blvd.

Tuttle's sons Iowa H. (1868-1914) and Morris B. are also profiled in Guinn, and Iowa H. also in Martin.
