The Amesti family were Californios, some of whom lived in what is now Santa Cruz County. In 1823, Jose Amesti (born in Spain, residing in Monterey) received a Mexican "rancho" land grant called Rancho Los Corralitos, which gave its name to today's Corralitos community. No local Amesti burials were found at Find-a-Grave.
