'''Max Walden''' was a local developer who purchased the former county courthouse in 1970 and transformed it into Cooper House. The property was later acquired by Los Gatos developer [[Paul, Jay|Jay Paul]], who had the building demolished after the [[1989 Loma Prieta earthquake]] and built the current structure in its place.
