'''James V. Toscano''' ([https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/244939659/james-vincent-toscano 1867-1951]) was an Italian immigrant who came to Santa Cruz in retirement in the 1920s. Toscano had come to Los Banos as a child, with his parents. [[Esty, Lee D.|Lee Esty]] designed a house on Beach hill (address not known) for Toscano in 1929. There was a Toscano Hotel on Front Street ca. 1900, but there's no evidence of a connection to James or his family.
