The first trestle in this location was built by the [[Santa Cruz Railroad]] in 1876. The current steel truss trestle was built in 1908. The narrow 1908 pedestrian bridge running alongside was replaced in 2020 by a wider bridge, part of [[Riverwalk]] park and the [[Santa Cruz County Coastal Rail Trail]].<br />
